ABOUT JULIA

Julia Barrett BSc (Hons) MCPod

Chiropodist - Podiatrist

I graduated from the University of Southampton following a career change from a secondary school science teacher.

​

I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and the College of Podiatry, sitting on the committee of the Hampshire branch.

I have worked in clinics across Dorset and Hampshire. I have gained varied experience in each including diabetic foot care, biomechanics, treatment of ingrowing toenails, toenail surgery, treatment of verrucae and fungal nail infections as well as cosmetic treatments including toenail reconstruction and warm wax therapy.

Patient education and advice on care and prevention are part of my ethos. I have a passion for life-long learning and regularly undertake continuing professional development to consolidate and further my skills and knowledge.

In my spare time I enjoy doing fitness classes and in the summer months, outdoor swimming in lakes and the sea.
